CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW)- Today’s media landscape, in which much of what’s produced in the various mediums of art across the world (music, movies, etc.) is pushed out with the express purpose of making money, or at worse, is callously classified by the nondescript moniker of “content”, it can be hard to find artistic work you can relate on a deeper level simply paying for the privilege of taking it in.
As French novelist Amantine Lucile Aurore Dupin de Francueil (Georges Sand) once said, “Art for art sake is an empty phrase. Art for the sake of truth, art for the sake of the good and the beautiful, that is the faith that I am searching for.”
