CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – In the midst of momentum Tom Perriello has gained entering the 5th District Congressional primary for Democrats, Albemarle Scottsville Supervisor Mike Pruitt announced a daily social media initiative inspired by his days in the Navy.

“Quarters. All hands to quarters for a muster, instruction, and inspection,” Pruitt said on a video posted to his 5th District campaign social media accounts over the weekend.

In a Wednesday release, Pruitt announced the launch of the “Daily Quarters” social media series based on what the first thing one hears every morning on a U.S. Navy warship.

“My name’s Mike Pruitt and I’m running for Congress in Virginia’s 5th Congressional District, and I want to bring the idea of quarters to this campaign,” Pruitt said in his first “quarters” post.

He said the daily “quarters” announcement every morning on a ship was when leadership told everyone what was going on that day, what one needs to focus on, and what the things are happening on the ship that day that one doesn’t see but matters to the work one may be doing.

“That’s why tomorrow, we’re going to start a daily, yes daily, video series of ‘Quarters’ where I’m going to come to you and talk about things that are affecting this district that Congress has power over that affect your lives that maybe are not on your radar,” Pruitt noted.

His first installment after the initial announcement was the ICE officer killing of Renee Good in Minneapolis. followed by another ‘quarters’ agreeing with President Trump’s proposal to cap credit card debt, and a third talking about the Trump Administration’s investigation of Fed Chairman Jerome Powell.
