CHARLOTTESVILL, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Saturday’s Powerball jackpot is more than pocket change.
Sales often speed up when a jackpot reaches 9 digits, so the current $950 million jackpot could be higher when the numbers are drawn.
Several significant prizes were won in Virginia during Wednesday’s drawing:
The $2 million winning ticket was bought at Weis Markets, 9801 Courthouse Road, Spotsylvania.
The $1 million winning ticket was bought at the 7-Eleven at 13511 Carrollton Boulevard in Carrollton.
The three tickets that each won $50,000 were bought at:
- Royal Farms, 1221 Warrenton Road in Fredericksburg;
- Springfield Shell, 5533 Backlick Road in Springfield;
- Online at valottery.com or the Virginia Lottery app, by an Alexandria resident.
Powerball tickets can be purchased at any of more than 5,300 Virginia Lottery retailers statewide or online using the Virginia Lottery app.
Drawings are held at 10:59 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, with prices ranging from $2 up to the jackpot.
The odds of matching all six numbers to win the jackpot are 1 in 292,201,338.
