UPDATE: One suspect apprehended in Sunday afternoon Crozet shooting

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Albemarle County Police have a suspect in custody in a Sunday afternoon shooting in Crozet.

Roger J. Lamb, a 35-year-old Crozet man, has been charged with malicious wounding, and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. He is being held at Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail without bond.

Albemarle Police posted on social media around 4 p.m. of a large law enforcement presence in the 5500 block of Doyle Side Lane in Crozet.

According to an ACPD release, police were dispatched around 3 p.m. to that location for a report of shots fired.

Upon arrival, officers found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to UVA in serious, but non-life threatening, condition.

The investigation is ongoing, and police urge anyone with information to contact Det. Carroll with the Albemarle County Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division at 434-296-5807.
