One dead in Zion Crossroads house fire

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Louisa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal Saturday morning fire at a home near Zion Crossroads.

Louisa County Fire and EMS responded around 7:30 a.m. to the 2000 block of West Green Springs Rd. to a structure fire, according to a sheriff’s department release.

When they arrived, they found two of three people who had been inside had escaped.

They were evaluated on the scene by EMS personnel.

The release said the third occupant, an adult male, was located inside after fire suppression and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The fire is under investigation and anyone with information is urged to call the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office at 540-967-1234 or Louisa Crime Stoppers at 800-346-1466.
