CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The snow heading into Friday has caused multiple delays and closings. Delays could change when conditions are re-evaluated in the morning.

 

PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Albemarle County Public Schools: CLOSED

Buckingham County Public Schools: CLOSED

Fluvanna County Public Schools CLOSED

Harrisonburg City Schools: CLOSED

Louisa County Public Schools: CLOSED

Nelson County Public Schools: CLOSED

Staunton City Schools: CLOSED

Waynesboro Public Schools: CLOSED

Charlottesville City Schools: 2-hour delay

Madison County Public Schools: 2-hour delay

Rockingham County Public Schools: decision will be made by morning

 

PRIVATE SCHOOLS

Lafayette School: CLOSED

Oakland School: CLOSED

Open Door Christian School: CLOSED

Kangaroo Preschool: CLOSED

Charlottesville Catholic School: 2-hour delay, Car line begins at 9:45 a.m.

Charlottesville Day School: 90-minute delay

Tandem Friends School: opening at 10:00 a.m.

Seven Rivers Country Day at Miller School of Albemarle: opening at 10:00 a.m.

Regents School of Charlottesville: 2-hour delay, bus service canceled

COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES

Longwood University: CLOSED

UVA- Modified schedule:

UVA will operate on a modified schedule on Friday, December 5th, 2025 due to inclement winter weather. We will delay opening until 10:00am on Friday, December 5th, 2025. Classes scheduled before 10:00am will not meet in person on Grounds, but we encourage faculty to shift those classes online, if feasible. Please communicate your plans to your students.
Designated Academic Division employees should report to work as scheduled.

Non-designated Academic Division employees who report to Grounds should report at 10:00am. Non-designated Academic Division employees who work from home should follow their normal schedule. Any employee who is unable to work should contact their manager or supervisor so a reasonable accommodation plan can be made.
