CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Due to the recent winter weather, the City of Charlottesville has acknowledged some trash and recycling collection routes experienced incomplete or missed service.

A city release advised “because of resource constraints, there will be no make-up collections for missed trash or recycling service. The City has directed its collection contractor to collect any contained overflow during residents’ next regularly scheduled trash or recycling pickup.”

“Residents who need immediate options for excess recycling are encouraged to use the Rivanna McIntire Recycling Center, located at 611 McIntire Road. The facility is free for Charlottesville residents. Additional information is available at rivannasolidwaste.org.”

The release apologizes for the service interruptions and noted regular service will resume as soon as the weather allows.

They direct inquiries to the City of Charlottesville Public Works at 434-970-3830 or pwinfo@charlottesville.gov.
