CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The man injured in Tuesday’s home explosion in the Glenmore subdivision of Keswick is in stable condition now at the VCU Medical Center, Albemarle County Fire Rescue announced Friday.

ACFR identified the woman killed in the blast as 76-year-old Justine M. Joscelyne of Keswick.

A house on the 2300 block of Ferndown Lane was leveled by an explosion on Tuesday, a blast that displaced residents of 12 other neighboring homes.

Wednesday, ACFR chief Dan Eggleston said the investigation was focused on gas as the cause of the explosion, looking at appliances and delivery systems that had been in the home.

“While the preliminary investigation has been completed, the Albemarle County Fire Marshal’s Office is continuing to review and analyze additional data related to the explosion,” ACFR announced in Friday’s statement.

ACFR announced that 202 houses had been assessed since the explosion and that there would no longer be a visible fire presence in the Glenmore neighborhood going forward.
