HOPS grant applications being taken through October 20

CHALOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Charlottesville taking applications for Housing Operations and Program Services (HOPS) Grants. The program is designed to support housing stability, homelessness outreach, eviction prevention, and other critical services within the Charlottesville community. The application deadline is October 20, 2025, at 5:00 PM.

HOPS grants are available for nonprofit organizations, public housing agencies, and service providers dedicated to helping low-income residents and those facing housing instability. The funds are used to maintain and enhance housing-related services rather than focusing on capital and development projects.

The application and information packet can be accessed online HERE. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply early and schedule pre-application meetings by contacting Madelyn Metzler, Acting Housing Program Manager, via email at metzlerm@charlottesville.gov.
