CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office is searching for three suspects in connection with a string of vehicle break-ins late Sunday night and early Monday morning in Nahor and Monticello, according to a release.

Most of the vehicles involved were unlocked and were in the Villages at Nahor and Coves at Monticello. During the same time frame, one unlocked vehicle was stolen and has since been identified as the suspect vehicle used during the commission of these crimes.

Investigators have identified the stolen suspect vehicle as a white 2017 Hyundai Tucson with Virginia registration TWS8227. The vehicle is believed to have been occupied by three suspects, who were observed in security footage exiting the vehicle and entering multiple vehicles in driveways and parking areas before fleeing the area.

Residents in the affected areas are encouraged to check their vehicles and report any missing or stolen property. Additionally, residents with home security systems or doorbell-style cameras, including Ring, SimpliSafe, or similar devices, are asked to review any footage recorded between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. from the overnight period. Any relevant video footage may be emailed directly to Investigator Sean Brennan at sbrennan@fluvannasheriff.com. Tips may also be provided confidentially through Crime Stoppers at (434) 977-4000.

Major David R. Wells said crimes of this nature are often crimes of opportunity and serve as an important reminder to always lock vehicles and avoid leaving valuables inside overnight.
