CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Five residents have been displaced after fire broke out in a home late Wednesday morning in the 4800 block of Blenheim Rd. in the Scottsville area, according to Albemarle County Fire Rescue.

Firefighters were dispatched at 10:03 a.m. and arrived 20 minutes later, the first units finding flames and smoke from the interior of one side of a residence.

Three people at home at the time of the fire were able to self-evacuate before firefighters arrived, and no one was hurt.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Albemarle County Fire Marshal’s Office, according to a release, but it is believed to have started on the home’s exterior before making its way to the interior.

The five individuals affected are being assisted by the Red Cross.
