CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – A resident and pet dog escaped fire early Thursday morning in a home in the 5000 block of Brook View Road in Crozet. Firefighters were called around 1:10 a.m. and arrived about 10 minutes later to find smoke and flames coming from the house. No one was hurt and the cause is under investigation, though it’s not believed to be suspicious.

The displaced resident and pet are being helped by family and friends.

Albemarle County Fire Rescue would like to take this opportunity to remind the community to have working smoke alarms and know two ways out of your home. Make and practice your escape plan with resources available at albemarle.org/SafeatHome.
