Chesterfield County man arrested for child solicitation in Charlottesville

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – A Chesterfield County man has been arrested for trying to meet with a 14-year-old girl to engage in sexual activity in Charlottesville’s Azalea Park.

According to the Charlottesville Police Department, the investigation of Ricardo Lopez Solis, 29, began on Oct. 1 when a Charlottesville detective acting undercover was contacted by a male who wanted to meet with a 14-year-old female at the park on Tuesday. CPD detectives and officers took Solis into custody on site without incident. He was charged with one count each of use of communications systems while taking indecent liberties with a minor, and use of communication systems for solicitation of a minor.

Solis remains in custody at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail.
