VERONA (WINA) – Totals are in from the Blue Ridge Area Foodbank from the Stamp Out Hunger effort. Foodbank drive coordinator Brynna Strand says people in communities in the Charlottesville area the Shenandoah Valley gave more than 115,000 pounds of food which is nearly 96,000 meals.  Strand says this is the highest year post-pandemic, a bit over last year, but still behind pre-pandemic.

Strand says people all around the community May 13th left food out by their mailboxes, and letter carriers brought them back to their post offices where community volunteers have helped take them to communities and pantries.
