Virginia State Police is investigating a fatal crash in Greene County. The crash occurred Sept. 23, 2023, at 12:47 a.m. on Route 33, approximately one mile west of Goose Pond Rd.
A 2017 Nissan Versa was traveling north on Route 33. As the Nissan came into the curve, it crossed the centerline and struck head-on a southbound 2022 Toyota Tundra.
The driver of the Nissan, Alec H. Burnett, 30, of Richmond, Va., died at the scene. She was wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the Toyota, Kevin J. Suarez Escoto, 28, of Charlotte, N.C., suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. He was wearing a seat belt.
