CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – On February 21, 2024, Charlottesville Police Department (CPD) detectives and patrol officers executed search and arrest warrants in the 1600 block of Cedar Hill Rd in relation to the shooting that occurred on February 1.
As a result of the search warrants at the residence, CPD recovered over a pound of marijuana, over $48,000 in U.S. currency, two rifles, and various calibers of ammunition.
In addition to this residential search warrant, a traffic stop was initiated in the 1100 block of 5th St SW on February 19th in relation to this case by CPD’s Patrol Division. Dentrit and Deorin Roshaj were both taken into custody that night and two firearms were seized during that stop.
The following charges and persons have been arrested in relation to this case:
Dentrit Roshaj, 19-year-old resident of Charlottesville
- 18.2-154 – Shooting at a moving vehicle
- 18.2-56.1 – Reckless Handling of a Firearm
De Roshaorinj, 22-year-old resident of Charlottesville
- 18.2-308.4(C) – Possession of Firearms While Possessing Over a Pound of Marijuana
- 18.2-308 – Possession of Concealed Weapon (from traffic stop on February 19)
A juvenile male resident of Charlottesville was also charged with:
- 18.2-154 – Shooting At A Moving Vehicle
- 18.2-56.1 – Reckless Handling of a Firearm
