Bumpass woman enters guilty pleas to attempted capital murder

(LOUISA – WINA)    A Bumpass woman has pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted capital murder of a police officer.   42-year-old Misty Norwood entered the pleas Thursday in Louisa County Circuit Court.

She was arrested following an incident nearly a year ago at Norwood’s home in Bumpass.  Prosecutors say Norwood began firing last May 8th at a lieutenant in the Louisa Sheriff’s Office and a state trooper.

Norwood will be sentenced on July 11th in the Louisa County Circuit Court.
