Albemarle Police investigate weekend Covesville shooting death

CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – Albemarle Police are investigating a weekend shooting death in the Covesville area. Police were called to the 5400 block of Wingspread Lane — just off 29 — around 9:30 Saturday night to a reported shooting. Upon arrival, officers found 55-year old Yvette Fitch had been shot to death.

A suspect is under investigation and police say there’s no threat to the community at this time. Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call Albemarle Police  Detective Andrew Holmes at 434-296-5807 or Crime Stoppers at 434-977-4000.
